Cowichan Communities Health Network (CCHN) was established in the fall of 2009 and serves as an open forum for discussion on: the determinants of health, the identification of health service priorities, community and health services planning and development, and other issues related to health status of Cowichan Valley citizens and communities. The Community Health Network is a group of people committed to improving the quality of health care decisions, health services and well being in the Cowichan communities. The Network belongs to you! Network events will keep you informed on health issues, provide the opportunity to acknowledge concerns, and feedback on the outcomes of decisions made. The CCHN is an open forum. All residents and organizations of the Cowichan Communities are welcomed to participate. The Cowichan Communities Health Network includes the Cowichan Region which stretches from the Gulf Islands of Valdes in the East to the mouth of the Nitinat in the West….from the Malahat in the South to North Oyster in the North. There are four Municipalities, nine electoral areas, nine First Nations and Métis, with a population of approximately 81,000 people.
